2008 OPR Charity Event

Saturday May 10th, 9A

The Olympic Peninsula Region has selected the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as our charity this year. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was established in 1955, at that time children with cystic fibrosis did not live to attend elementary school. All donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) are 100% tax deductible. The foundation does not received direct federal funding, so it depends upon the generosity of individual donors, like us.

We will be participating in The Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walk on May 10, 2008 which starts at 10A at the Vinland Elementary School in Poulsbo. The Olympic Peninsula Region of PCA is sponsoring a Rest Stop along the walk and members will be participating in the walk. All members who participate in the walk will receive a T-shirt with all the sponsors, morning coffee & pastries, fruit and bottled water at the rest stops along the route and lunch after the walk. There will also be music and activities for the kids at the Vinland Elementary School parking lot.

We are also having a charity Show & Shine at the Vinland Elementary School during this event. We will meet up at 9A at the Poulsbo McDonalds and drive over to Vinland Elementary School as a group. Trophies will be provided for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on a People's Choice vote. We will need a couple of folks who are not participating in the walk to hand out and collect ballots and tally the votes. If you are interested, please contact Maryann Elwell at (253) 853-4003 or by email.

Instructions for the Show & Shine

Click here to download a show & shine registration form. The entry fee per car is $15 early bird (must be received by 4/15/08) or $20 after 4/15/08 and will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  If you plan to show your Porsche or other car, please complete the attached form and mail it with your payment to our Treasurer, Jeff Smith at OPR-PCA, P.O. Box 3572, Silverdale, WA 98383-3572.  Checks may be written out to "OPR-PCA" or "CFF". If you will participate in the Show & Shine, you must RSVP to Brett Burroughs at (360) 697-6309 or by email by 5/2/08, so he can provide the final car count to the organizers.

Early registration for this event is important.  We need to make sure we reserve sufficient space for our cars, since the Mustang club will also be there and parking is limited, so please register early.
