April Tour to Hood Canal & QuilceneSaturday April 19th - Noon at the Poulsbo McDonalds – Brett Burroughs will lead the Tour across Hood Canal Bridge and north on Teal Lake Road to Port Ludlow and Swansonville Road to Hwy 19 (Beaver Valley Road) to Larson Lake Road to Center Road to Quilcene. We will have lunch at Olympic Timber House Restaurant, 295534 Hwy 101, Quilcene, at 1:30pm. Really good food! After lunch we'll continue south on #101 and loop around Hood Canal. First stop will be Whitney Gardens in Brinnon to view and/or purchase famous rhodies, azaleas and other plants/flower baskets depending on weather. Next stop is Hama Hama Oyster Company at Lilliwaup. Bring small ice chest or bag to ice down your oyster/clam/other goodies for the drive home. On to Hoodsport to checkout shops and Hoodsport Winery. The Skokomish Indian Reservation at Potlatch has a gas station, casino and mini mart. Here we take a left onto Hwy 106 and our stop is at Hunter Farms Store for popular Olympic Mountain ice cream cones/dishes. We'll continue on through Union (just coming out of winter hibernation), Alderbrook Inn (look for the historic waterwheel on your left. (we can stop if parking available). Twanoh State Park is a good rest-stop and view if weather cooperates. We will wrap up the tour in Belfair.
