1st – 2:00P Super Bowl Pot Luck Party - Cancelled.

11th – 6:30P/7:00P – Dinner/Board & Membership Meeting at Angels Homestyle Buffet at 4111 Wheaton Way in East Bremerton.  Phone:  (360) 377-7044. Cost per person is $10.81 for all you can eat.  It's under new management and food is quite good, but is only out until 7P. 

15th – OPR Newsletter Subscription Fee Due. Please make $15 payment to OPR-PCA and mail with invoice stub to OPR-PCA at P.O. Box 3572, Silverdale, WA 98383-3572.

28th – 7:00P – Movie Night and Pot Luck Dinner hosted by Bill & Debbie Bonsell at their condo’s club house in Poulsbo. Everyone should bring a dish (appetizer, main course, side dish, or dessert) and BYOB. Paper products, utensils, coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. March 2009

3^rd-5^th – 54^th Annual Porsche Parade 2009 Registration Opens – This year’s Parade will be in Keystone, CO near Denver.  Registration is slightly different from prior years and registering on any of these three days will all be considered to have the same priority.  For more details go to http://porscheparade2009.com/registration.aspx.

14^th – 2:00P – 6^th Annual Chili Cookoff at the Elwell’s in Gig Harbor.  Must RSVP to Maryann or Bill Elwell via phone:  (253) 853-4003 or by E-mail by 3/7/09.  Please mention if you will be making Chili or something else.  If you have one of the trophies from last year, please return to the Elwell’s by 3/7/09.

29^th – 10:00A – Spring Tour.  Meet at MAXRPM Motorsports for a tour to Tacoma and a visit to the Glass Museum.  Upon leaving MAXRPM, we will drive back roads through Port Orchard, Manchester, Olalla, and then Gig Harbor before crossing the bridge and heading for the Tacoma waterfront.  The Glass Museum opens at noon and we should arrive there just in time.  Be aware that there is a $10 admission fee at the museum.  After our tour, we will walk a to a nearby restaurant for lunch.  RSVP to Bill Elwell at billelwell@hotmail.com or via phone:  (253) 853-4003 by 3/10/09, so we can book a group tour if we have 10 people.

April 2009

25^th – noon – Tour to Port Townsend.  We need a volunteer to plan the driving portion of this event.  If interested, please contact Maryann by phone:  (253) 853-4003 or by email ASAP.  We will tour Bergstrom's Antique & Classic Autos (809 Washington Street), stop at Quimper Inn with a 5:30P dinner to follow at a local restaurant in Port Townsend.  RSVP for dinner to Mike Kenna at (360) 385-1256 or via e-mail.

May 2009

9th –7:30A – CFF Charity Show & Shine.  Meet at Poulsbo McDonalds to drive as a group to the Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Fundraiser at Vinland Elementary School.  In addition to the Walk-a-thon, OPR will hold a car show and shine during the event to gather additional funds for the charity.  Submit Registration Form with payment of $20 made out to "OPR-PCA" or "CFF" and mail to OPR-PCA, P.O. Box 3572, Silverdale, WA 98383-3572.  Parking is limited, so must RSVP to Maryann Elwell at phone:  (253) 853-4003 or by email no later than 4/15/09.  To sign up for Walk-A-Thon (about 6/10 of a mile), go to http://www.cff.org/great_strides/find_a_walk_site/ and select "Washington" under state and "Washington Chapter (Seattle, WA)" under Chapter then click on "Find a Walk". Select "2009 Poulsbo - Vinland Elementary" and click on "Register" button next to it.  Select "I am an individual signing up as a member of a team." and select "Micah's Porsche Team (Maryann Elwell)", then click on "Continue" and complete your registration.

9th –6:00P – Nueve De Mayo Dinner.  At Los Cazadores, a wonderful little Mexican restaurant at 3329 Kitsap Way in West Bremerton.  Celebrate the Mexican way, have a margarita!  Please RSVP to Gloria Mellon at (360) 405-0211 or by email by 5/1/09.

13th – 6:30P/7:00P – Taco Dinner/Board & Membership Meeting at MAXRPM at 2320 6^th St. in Bremerton.  Phone:  (360) 373-6758.  Tacos will be available  for $1.50 each and beers for $3 and sodas/bottled water for $1.

16th – noon – Viking Fest Parade in Poulsbo followed by Picnic at Faye Bainbridge Park.  At noon on May 16th we will meet at the McDonalds in Poulsbo to get lined up for the parade, which starts at 2P. At the end of the parade we will meet back up at the McDonalds and head over to Faye Bainbridge Park for a picnic.  RSVP to Patrick Mitchell at (206) 780-3880 or via e-mail for the picnic by 5/9/09.  RSVP for the parade to George Avila at (360) 638-1494 or via e-mail by 4/29/09 so we can provide the car count to the parade coordinators.  We will be ordering Viking Fest t-shirts for participants at $15 each, so please indicate how many shirts and what sizes you want in your RSVP to George.  Send your payment to OPR-PCA at P.O. 12th - 14th - Rose Cup Races will be at Portland International Raceway the weekend of June 12th to 14th. The Oregon PCA Region will have a monitored corral Saturday and Sunday. The corral will be set-up late Friday afternoon so we are welcome to take advantage of the corral area. The location will be on the outside of the track in close proximity to where it has been the last 2 years. We will be located next to the Carrera Motors booth which will be next to the TCM Hospitality tent. This area is roughly next to the start of the front straightaway. You can buy tickets at www.rosefestival.org , all Ticketmaster Outlets or Online By Phone at 503-224-4400.  A group from our region will be attending the races on Saturday.  If you'd like to join them for the drive down, contact Brett Burroughs by calling 360-697-6309.

21st – 10A-3P Great Wolf Lodge Charity Show & Shine – 10A-3P Great Wolf Lodge Charity Show & Shine – Meeting at Gig Harbor McDonalds (Olympic Dr.) at 8A to drive over as a group or meet at the Lodge (20500 Old Highway 99, SW Grand Mound, WA 98531 Phone: 360-273-7718) at 9A. Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  $25/car entry fee includes 2 free water park passes for the day per car entry (see their website: http://www.greatwolf.com). Parking is limited, so must RSVP to Bob Becken at (360) 710-7666 or by email.  Directions from Seattle/Olympia: Take I-5 south to Exit 88 (Hwy. 12), go west to first stoplight and turn left (south) onto Old Hwy. 99. Continue south for approximately 1/3 mile and the site will be on the left. 

27th – 10A – 1P – Multi-vendor Tech Session. Will be held at MAXRPM at 2320 6th St. in Bremerton. Join Alex Raphael and his team for a day of cars, engines, vendor demos, dyno tuning & testing, question & answer sessions, and good friends. Coffee and goodies and afternoon BBQ. Featured vendors: Evolution Motorsports, Todd Zuccone from EVO, Brembo, Bob Chmelka from Race Technologies, and Griot’s Garage. RSVP to Alex Raphael by 6/24/09 at (360) 373-6758.

28th – 9A – 3P – Shelton Car Show/Annual OPR Picnic – Classic Hot Rods, Antiques, and Motorcycles will be on display. If you have a classic 356, 911 or 912 this is the car show for you. Followed by picnic at 3:30P at John & Susie James’ Mason Lake cabin. Please RSVP for car show and/or picnic by 6/20/09 to John James at 253-265-2500 or by e-mail.

29th – July 4th – 54th Annual Porsche Parade in Keystone, CO (near Denver). Registration starts March 3rd – 5th and will be accepted for first 1000 entrants. If driving out and interested in joining up with PNWR members for drive, contact Eric Breidenbach by email.

Box 3572, Silverdale, WA 98383-3572. All proceeds benefit uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital & Regional Hospital Center in Seattle.

25th – Overnight in Port Angeles – A block of 10 Queen rooms has been reserved at the Portside Inn (1510 E. Front St.) in Port Angeles for those who want to stay over the night before Porsches on the Pier. If there’s enough interest, we will plan a drive up to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park ($15 park fee per car) around 2P on Saturday. Hotel reservation must be made by 7/17/09 to guarantee our group rate of $89.96 + tax. Mention Porsche Club when you call the hotel to make your reservation at (360) 452-4015. 26th – 11A Porsches on the Pier in Port Angeles – Meet 9:15A at the Poulsbo McDonalds (20533 Viking Ave.) or 10:30AM at the Port Angeles McDonalds (1706 E Front St./Hwy 101) to drive to the Pier for car show. During the car show enjoy the local Arts in Action Street Fair featuring music, sand sculptors, artist booths, family events, Underground tours, vendors and food. Be sure to bring folding chairs, hats/sun umbrellas, water and soft drinks, and lots of sunscreen to keep you cool. After the car show, join us for an Ice Cream Sunday party back at the Kurt & Lori Schneider's house in Port Angeles. RSVP to Kurt & Lori Schneider at (360) 808-2200 or email (preferred) by 7/19/07.

August 2009

1st – 8A-2P – Cruisers Car Show at Uptown Shopping Center (4735 Point Fosdick Drive) in Gig Harbor. Meeting at 7A at the Gig Harbor McDonalds (Olympic Drive exit of Hwy 16). There will be a $15/car registration fee collected at the gate that includes dash plaques and trophies to be award in multiple categories. Event T-shirts will available for purchase at the event.
